Suzanne Butler

I’m a quality assurance enthusiast (truly!) with over 20 years experience in the field and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to now work in a consulting capacity.  I formally directed the quality assurance and incident management team of a large not-for-profit organization supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in NYS.  My experience in developing, implementing, and assessing systemic processes allowed me to shift easily into a consulting role.  I’m thankful that my experience as a direct support professional keeps me grounded to the true purpose of my work and I’m proud that I created a career in helping others find successful approaches to often difficult situations.  I enjoy being a “resource” and “go-to-person” for trustworthly information.  Clients say that I project a sense of calm during tough times and convey a positive outlook where all things are possible

I am a Masters level professional with over 40 years experience working with non profit agencies serving people with intellectual disabilities.  I worked for over thirty years with a large NYC agency who provided services in the boroughs, Long Island and Westchester.  My responsibilities included overseeing quality assurance staff in a variety of services including residential, day services, community habilitation and care management.  I am most proud of developing a team approach between the Quality Assurance Department and the various services. Currently, I am providing support to non profit agencies to assist  with incident reporting, training. system development and management. Above all else, I like to have fun in everything I do, including in my work.
